Why we're here

We believe life is better with people in it.

Community college is full of people — but between classes, work, and commuting, it can be hard to actually meet anyone.

You can sit next to someone every week and never learn their name. You can grab coffee in the same café every morning and never say more than "thanks."

Social media helped us stay connected. It didn't necessarily help us become connected.

Our mission

Monarch's mission is to make it easier for students to meet someone new for a coffee on campus.

We believe friendship shouldn't depend on luck.

Meeting someone you click with shouldn't require showing up to the right club event or hoping you end up in the same study group.

Technology can do something better. It can notice the students around you who you might genuinely get along with — and set up a simple coffee so a relationship can begin.

Nothing complicated. Just the right people, brought together over a coffee.

Technology should get us off technology.

We don't want Monarch to become another place where you spend hours scrolling. The best outcome is that you barely need us.
